It did surprise and no more surprises when companies proclaim their culture as one thing and they tend to act in a completely opposite way. I would suggest aspiring employee’s to check parameter during the interview. Lets take an example of, ‘Company accounts about everyone to be innovative. How does that work?’ If they say that their customers drive everything they do, you could ask, ‘What processes do you have in place to check on the on-changing requirements of your customers?
It’s feels great to see the Founder’s or CEO’s statements in the annual report, ‘People are our greatest assets and would like to thank them for their hard work’ while somewhere else in the same report it’s noted that the downsizing exercise has gone well.
