Logic Problem: Roadies

Roadies race was organized in Ghodaghar. There were 114 participants and so there were 57 matches in the first round of the race. In the second round 57 racer’s remaining were paired, resulting in 28 matches; one racer received a bye (did not have to race in that round). The 29 racer remaining were paired, and so on.
1. How many races in all were required were required to determine the winner?
2. How many rounds would be required if n people participated in the race?
