Ghazi to Raazi: Several Questions answered

In 2017 I watched The Ghazi Attack that narrates a situation of an Indian Naval submarine and Pakistani submarine with an intention of later to destroy INS Vikrant. I was left with several questions of who were people giving these information on both sides? How one leads another for such mission? and so on. Raazi movie by Meghna Gulzar set during 1971 Indo-Pak back drop where an Indian girl marries a Pakistani Army officer to spy for her country.

As claimed by the film makers that is based on a true story and a book written by Calling Sehmat by Harinder Sikka a story of a girl names Sehmat, played by Alia Bhatt whose life changes after knowing her father (played by Rajit Kapoor) who is nearing call from God steps her to become as an Indian spy. Khalid Mir (played by Jaideep Ahlawat) who is an Indian intelligence agent takes Sehmat into a rigorous trainings. I although tempted to write the complete story but I feelĀ People who haven’t watched must watch to rest journey of Sehmat. The journey of her underlying bond between her and husband Iqbal (played by Vicky Kaushal) where both tries to balance their attraction towards each other and love of their nation.

Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s, Gulzar lyrics and several other areas like costume makes it memorable. Meghna Gulzar’s take on the repercussions of any war that leaves on human mind is something a thought provoking!
